Join the Band!

The Fridley City Band is open to all levels of musicians. We invite you to join us. Try playing with us once and you will want to return! There are openings for all instruments, but we especially need clarinets, percussion, French Horns, and lower brass musicians.

Our rehearsals are fun and low key. The director gets to try out his new jokes on us!

Rehearsals are at the Fridley Middle School (6100 W Moore Lake Dr NE, Fridley 55432) in the band room every Monday from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Rehearsals are not held on school holidays, as the school is closed.

There are two specialty bands formed by some members of the full band, the Old Time Band and the Dixieland Band.

The Dixieland Band has been a small ensemble, with trumpet, saxophone, trombone, clarinet, keyboard, tuba and percussion, but is now dormant. The Old Time Band has about 20 musicians and performs "old-time", German-style polkas, waltzes and marches. These special bands rehearse for 1/2 hour before full band practice on occasional Monday nights as needed or for performance preparation
